Hotel du Vin is keen to support and encourage charitable ventures that are important to us. Below are details of charites we feel strongly about.
THE ELIZABETH MONTGOMERIE FOUNDATION
The Elizabeth Montgomerie Foundation aims to raise £3m to provide practical and emotional support to cancer patients, their families and carers. The initial focus will be on the West of Scotland, which has some of the highest cancer rates in the world.
Hotel du Vin and the Malmaison Group in Scotland are delighted to be supporting the Elizabeth Montgomerie Foundation. Many of our employees in Scotland are getting involved in various sponsored events to raise money for this worthwhile cause.
Between 2nd - 6th November general managers, regional directors and the CEO, Robert Cook is aiming to complete the West Highland Way - a 94 mile walk across the mountains of Scotland from Milngavie near Glasgow to Fort William.
Colin will be walking the first leg with them on 2nd November - which is over 12 miles.

HOTEL DU VIN AND THE VARIETY CLUB
The Variety Club has been helping sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and young people for 60 years, and has long prided itself on providing the small change, which can make a real difference. We're delighted to announce that Hotel du Vin and Malmaison plan to support this work with a number of initiatives over the coming months.
Through their 60 year history, Variety Club has given:
* Freedom with over 3,250 wheelchairs and mobility aids
* Independence through 4,850 Sunshine Coaches
* Hope to more than a million children and young people by raising more than £200 million
Hotel du Vin and Malmaison plan to raise money through customer donations and staff fundraising. We will be adding a £1 voluntary donation on each bill at check-out. It's important to stress that this is a voluntary donation and bills will re-adjusted accordingly.
There are lots of ways that you can get involved, from the small to the large. Whether it's doing a sponsored skydive, trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro or holding a bake sale - every penny raised for the Variety Club is gratefully received.
