Cambridge

This beautiful former University-owned building on Trumpington Street has been transformed to enhance its many quirky architectural features. Forty one bedrooms and suites, some with private terraces, have been carved out of the former University-owned building, alongside our trademark bistro with the first Hotel du Vin open-style kitchen. Dating back in part to medieval times, the hotel boasts a cosy library, private events room, Laroche wine tasting room and curiously labyrinthine cellar bar.

THE LOCAL NEIGHBOURHOOD

What Cambridge has to offer

One of the busiest tourist spots in the country with over three million visitors a year, Cambridge is also famously home to one of the world's most prestigious universities, which is itself a source of much of that tourism. With some colleges, such as Peterhouse, dating back to the eleventh century and all schools of architecture - from Gothic to Modern - represented, the city is a magnet to anyone with an interest in British history. This, coupled with the traditional sights of punts, May Balls and cyclists, helps to create a romantic image of Cambridge that is known the world over.

Cambridge is a delight to visit in any season: relax in its many pubs, restaurants and cafes whilst exploring the independent shops around the historic market place.

There are brand new shopping areas too, with all the high street favourites that you would expect. Be inspired by the museums and art galleries; spot the stars of the future at a student theatrical production, or see a show at the Arts Theatre.

OUR HEART AND SOUL

The very lifeblood of our hotel

Wine is the reason why we're here. Without it there is no du Vin, but we never want you to be mystified by the jargon and mumbo-jumbo that often surrounds the appreciation of wine. Let our Sommelier Berenger Carsana guide you through our comprehensive wine list showcasing the great wines available in the world today.

BISTRO

Open seven days a week, and under the tutelage of head chef, Jonathan Dean Bistro du Vin is at the heart of our hotel, a classic, French styled, elegant and informal setting for lunch, dinner, to meet, celebrate or simply pass the time. Dine on the finest produce that Cambridgeshire has to offer from local heroes such as the River Farm Smokery, Colchester Oyster Fisheries. and wheat and flour from the family-run Glebe Farm. These are only a handful of the many legendary suppliers we are honoured to include within our Homegrown & Local philosophy.
