Henley Royal Regatta
Established as a single afternoon race almost 200 years ago, Henley Royal Regatta is now internationally recognised as the largest racing regatta in the world. This week Hotel du Vin Henley will open its doors to the celebrations once again, we'll even be airing some of the races on our social channels. (Don't forget to tune in!)
On the 27th weekend of every year, HRR brings quaint Henley on Thames to life with four days of revelry, racing and really big hats, traditionally ending in a firework display on the Saturday evening.
Henley Regatta was first held in 1839 and has been held annually ever since, breaking only for the two World Wars. Originally staged by the Mayor and people of Henley as a public attraction with a fair, the emphasis quickly shifted so that competitive rowing became the main focus and draw.
On each side of the river spectators in traditional dress will observe world class rowing whilst enjoying champagne and fine dining, ranging from traditional afternoon tea to four-course dinners. There's even a Pimms only bar.
A thoroughly British tradition we're proud to be a part of each year. Keep an eye on our social channels for updates all week.
