David is a great example of what a bit of hard work coupled with passion can achieve. Joining the business as a Bar Manager at Malmaison Leeds in 2012, he worked his way up to General Manager there before taking up the same role at our newest place on the sea, Malmaison Brighton.
His incredibly proactive nature combined with his passion and love for his job resonates in his day to day work and with his team. His simple philosophy of working hard together with his determination to succeed for himself, and his team to succeed, has a direct impact on the continued success of Malmaison Leeds and, most recently, the seamless facilitation of the multi-million pound refurbishment and its launch party.

David Eiffert's Career Story
David started his career early working as a kitchen porter at Tower Hotel Lincoln, when his dad said he had to earn his own pocket money. He soon realised that he loved working in hotels and from there his career really took off.
He quickly rose through the ranks and became the Restaurant & Bar Manager at the young age of 18. After a short break travelling the world he joined Tower Hotel Lincoln as their Assistant Hotel Manager.
David joined the business in 2012 as Bar Manager at Malmaison Leeds, and excelled in his new role - increasing bar revenue and driving food sales by empowering his team with service training and product knowledge. During his 18 months as Bar Manager, he implemented a new of sale system which improved the speed of service and usability.
He then went on to work as Front of House Manager at Malmaison Newcastle in August 2013. The following year, David became Deputy Manager of the luxury 122 bedroom property.
Whilst there, he was put forward for ‘Malmaison’s Rising Star’ programme by his General Manager. This programme identifies high performance and high potential individuals across the business.
David was part of a group of approximately 30 individuals that was put forward for the 2014 Rising Star programme - only 12 were selected for the course. As part of the ‘Rising Star’, David was assessed against a nine grid talent matrix. Rising Stars are assessed on leadership, creativeness, team work, listening, communication and attention to detail - David excelled in all areas of the assessment.
As part of the Rising Star programme, he was assigned a mentor that worked with him to develop his commercial ability and understanding of development into a General Manager. Within six months of being on the programme, he was appointed as General Manager of Malmaison Leeds, making him the first from the 2014 Rising Star programme to reach that position.
In 2016, David was offered the opportunity to move to Brighton and open our brand new Malmaison Brighton as General Manager there - an opportunity he has seized and loved.
