At our Bistro du Vin Poole it's simple, really. Inspired by French home-style cooking with robust earthy dishes, and slow-cooked foods, Bistro du Vin's Gallic influenced menu has an undeniably British flavour.
It's about serving up dishes that rely heavily on fresh and seasonal produce. It's about enjoying moderately priced à la carte dining in a down-to-earth, warm and relaxing setting. All served by attentive and exceptionally knowledgeable waiting staff, happy to explain the dishes, the ingredients, and how our talented Chefs put them together. Always on hand, your Sommelier is also ready to advise, guide, match or recommend the perfect wine.
As for the décor - think natural daylight, reclaimed dark-stained floorboards, restored fireplaces, framed pictures and paintings, soft lighting and comfortable chairs. This is Bistro du Vin. Bistro dining at its heart warming, mouth watering best.
OUR NEW SPRING A LA CARTE
Sample our elegant new spring menu with all the delicious fresh tastes of the new season’s produce at Hotel du Vin. Enjoy moules marinière to chase the winter blues away or maybe a Provençal soup to welcome the new season. Get excited about our fantastic new main courses with canard and boudin noir saucisson with pickled red onions and baby kale or old favourites such as Gloucester Old Spot pork belly and pommes mousseline paired with a bottle of wine from our extensive selection with the help of one of our sommeliers. Finish your meal with our new, lighter dessert menu with delicious sweets such as sea salt caramel fondant or a pear and almond tart.

Our menus are inspired by the cooking traditions, rich tastes and subtleties of the various regions of France, created using a wealth of seasonal ingredients. Running alongside our á la carte menu the fixed price menu offers four starters, four main courses and four desserts so you can enjoy a choice of our favourite classic selection.
Dine on the Prix Fixe menu before 7pm to receive a complimentary glass of house wine.
Not available on a Friday or Saturday evening or during Sunday Lunch. Complimentary glass of wine is available for those who dine from the Fixed Price menu before 7pm. One glass of Hotel du Vin House Wine per person who dines.
IT TAKES TWO - SEAFOOD PLATTERS
Using an eclectic combination of flavours to enhance the fresh taste of these beautifully presented seafood platters for two, the acidity of the shallot vinegar along with buttery spicy and sweet flavours from the Bloody Mary, garlic butter and homemade mayonnaise work perfectly with the simple, fresh and carefully sourced ingredients.

Our bars provide a relaxed and informal setting, whether you are looking for a morning coffee and warm croissant or eggs benedict, to dishes including a club sandwich, a Hotel du Vin burger or a superfood salad for lunch. Take your pick and enjoy any of our dishes, perhaps with a glass of Hotel du Vin red or white wine.
A soup course is followed by a help yourself lavish French Market Table, the centrepiece of Sunday Brunch at Hotel du Vin. An exciting choice of fresh seafood, charcuterie, pâtés, rillettes and a selection of salads, vegetables and freshly baked artisan breads. Then a plethora of your Sunday lunch favourites including traditional roasts. And a few delectable delights to finish. Sunday Brunch is available each Sunday from 12pm at all of our Bistros.
